RÓISÍN SHORTALL: WHAT THIS COUNTRY NEEDS IS RIGHT-WING STABILITY
Jan 24th, 2011 by Conor McCabe
Footage from last night’s Week in Politics where Róisín Shortall of the Irish Labour Party calls left-wing politicians ‘misfits’ and a ‘ragbag’, and explains why the Irish Labour Party, in its pursuit of a left-led government for Ireland, promises to have no dealings whatsoever with any left-wing parties, policies or politicians - preferring instead to give the country a stable, right-wing, government for the next five years.
The Labour Party’s argument is that we should reject someone like Joe Higgins because Leo Varadker has got our back.
In fairness, though, she does explain how the Irish Labour Party will perform political alchemy by transforming the right-wing Fine Gael party into a left-wing government through the adoption of Fine Gael’s right-wing economic and social policies.
Enjoy.
Near the end of the clip Roisín calls Ireland’s left-wing politicians a motley crew.
This is an Irish left-wing politician
And this is a Motley Crue [sic].

[…] has an excellent post here from last night. It shows Martin Ferris and Roisin Shortall on TV last […]
Roisin Shortofafewmarbles methinks. anyhow they’ve agreed to continue with the shafting of the Irish people,so at least we now know what to expect from a new labour(ish) government.
Joe Higgins unlike any current member of Dail Eireann is a true Irishmen who actually cares and gives a damn about his fellow Irishmen,Roisin Shortofafewmarbles, pales into insignificance by comparison.
