GREEN WOGS, WITH NO MEMORY
Sep 8th, 2008 by Conor McCabe
Fifteen years of prosperity, and suddenly we forget our history.
This is one of the worst parts of the current crop of Irish racists in Fine Gael - absolutely no idea of what Irish people went through in England. They pounce on non-nationals here with the same venom and enthusiasm as their British counterparts twenty years ago, not realizing that they’re only a credit bubble away from being ‘fucking Micks’ again.
This generation didn’t have to emigrate, didn’t have to work on the sites in London, didn’t have to put up with the anti-Irish stuff that our families got when they went to England in the 1950s.
The smugness of it all.
Well, lest we forget, here’s the lyrics to Stiff Little Finger’s “White Noise”, followed by an MP3 of the song.
Enjoy.
Rastus is a nigger. Thug mugger junkie.
Black golly gob. Big horny monkey.
Pimp pusher coon. Grinning piccaninnies.
Send him home soon. Back to the trees.Black wogs. Black wogs. Face Don’t fit.
Black wogs. Black wogs. Ain’t no Brit.Ahmed is a Paki. Curry coffee queer.
Ten to a bed. Flocking over here.
Tax-sponging canker. Smelly thieving kids.
Ponce greasy wanker. Worse than the yids.Brown wogs. Brown wogs. Face don’t fit.
Brown wogs. Brown wogs. Ain’t no Brit.Stick together we’ll all be white me and you
The only colours we need are red, right and blue.Paddy is a moron. Spud thick Mick.
Breeds like a rabbit. Thinks with his prick.
Anything floors him if he can’ fight or drink it.
Round them up in Ulster. Tow it out and sink it.Green wogs. Green wogs. Our face don’t fit.
Green wogs. Green wogs. We ain’t no Brit.If the victim ain’t a soldier why should we care?
Irish bodies don’t count. Life’s cheaper over there.Green wogs. Green wogs. Face don’t fit.
Green wogs. Green wogs. Ain’t no Brit.
Green wogs. Green wogs. Get ‘em boys.
Green wogs. Green wogs. Turn up the white noise.

My parents went to England as did I, it was mainly the FFers with the cupla focal that got to stay home and work in the civil service. Have you had to leave any of the four green fields?
Funny you should bring up SLF - was rounding up stuff for a post on Belfast punk - and am finding rich pickings - hopefully get it up before the end of the week. Again remember listening to that one on vinyl chez John Kilcar, I think…
Is this populist xenophobia so deeply ingrained in the current FG party ?? Seems to have gotten you pretty irate anyway.
Unfortunately - they’re only following a Europe-wide trend - they saw it got Sarkozy elected here I’m sure. Not too sure it’s of all that much use to them against a fellow right wing populist party though…
Dan - to answer for Conor - he has been away from the auld sod fairly recently - a year in Spain - have ye not been following the blog ??
well, A little bit. Not as much, mind, as my father, who worked in Guys hospital as a porter (having followed my grandfather over to England as his Dad sent him a letter saying that he could get him some work), my brother who worked in Liverpool, my other brother who worked in London, my other brother who worked in France, and my sister who worked in Newcastle for a while, as well as my other sister who worked in the Isle of Man - and that’s before getting into uncles, aunts, and cousins. I still have relations over in England, and others buried in England. Nothing original in that. In fact, it’s incredibly mundane at one level. Hundreds of thousands of Irish families have the same story. It’d be hard to find a family in Ireland that can’t tell an immigrant story somewhere along the line.
But let’s forget our own emigrant past and get the blacks out, eh? go for it. There’s a racist vote out there and by God the nice middle-class kids Leo Varadker and Lucinda Creighton are doing whatever they can to stir it up. Constantly drip, drip drip, about immigrants and schools, immigrants and housing, even immigrants and driving (!). Just playing that racist card in order to get the votes.
More importantly let’s get the immigrants as the scape goats so we don’t have to focus in on those lovely land-owning patriots who’ve made hundreds of millions out of speculation, undermining the entire economy in the process.
In answer to your question Sean, yes, it is that ingrained. Mind you, it always was. This is the party of the Blueshirts, after all.
What we have now are these Young Fine Gael wankers who have gotten seats since the last election in 2007, and they’re the ones really running with the racist card. It´s obviously part of a policy to try to build the party.
They came out with this bullshit after Lisbon, saying that the no vote was an anti-immigrant vote (!). Three weeks ago we had Hayes calling for segregation in Irish schools. It’s all of this stuff. Constantly pushing the racist hate card, and pushing it by saying “you know, this isn’t the politically correct thing to say but, you know, immigrants. eh? eh?”
Wankers.
